That recommended-weight text comes directly from each brand's own product page, and guidance differs by formulation and potency — always check the actual product label and talk to your vet before starting a new supplement.

Cost per mg is a product's price divided by the total CBD content (in mg) of that size — an apples-to-apples way to compare value across brands and formats, since sticker price alone doesn't account for potency. A higher sticker price can still work out to the better value per mg, and vice versa.

The National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) is an independent industry body that audits member companies’ manufacturing and quality practices. A "NASC certified" badge on this site means the brand appeared in NASC’s live member directory as of that listing’s last-verified date — it’s not a safety guarantee or an endorsement by CBD Dog Guide, and membership can change after our last check.

Every product listed here is derived from hemp, not marijuana, and is represented by its manufacturer as containing no more than 0.3% THC by dry weight — the federal definition of hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill. We haven't independently lab-tested any product to confirm that. Legal status for hemp-derived CBD still varies by state and can change, so check your local laws and the brand's own Certificate of Analysis before buying.

Oils and tinctures are measured out in a dropper and mixed into food or given directly; soft chews and other treats are pre-dosed and given like a regular treat; capsules and soft gels are a fixed swallowable dose; topicals like balms and shampoos are applied to skin or coat instead of given orally. When a brand doesn’t publish a figure — a price, a review average, a review count — anywhere on their own site, we show "Not published" instead of a blank field or a number sourced from somewhere else. It means the brand hasn’t made that figure public, not that the value is zero.
